IIJ to Deliver IIJ GIO Cloud Service to Tokyo Stock Exchange for Remote Data Backup System
TOKYO-October 20, 2011-Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE1: 3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced it began delivering IIJ GIO Service to Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc.(TSE), since the end of August 2011.
TSE uses IIJ GIO to implement its backup system, which is being built to handle the business system. TSE's business continuity plan calls for storing the backup data in external data centers and similar remote storage facilities, and so they built a backup system with a remote storage function. Because they foresaw a constant increase in the volume of business data, they started to consider using a cloud service that could flexibility expand for a reasonable price for the backup system.
In 2010, TSE began using the IIJ Secure Web Gateway Service as a cloud-based Web security approach, which they favored for easy access to its array of advanced security features and the short time required to implement the service. By using IIJ GIO, TSE can obtain the same environment that they would have built themselves, and with the data stored at a remote location, they have created a backup that is secure from any disaster. The installation of this backup system-from writing the specifications to beginning operation-took only about two months, and this, along with IIJ's broad experience implementing these systems, were major factors in TSE's decision to go with IIJ.
IIJ will continue to expand the functionality to IIJ GIO to provide our client's with a secure and safe cloud service.
