IIJ Provides IIJ Secure Web Gateway Service to Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc.
TOKYO-September 7, 2010-Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE1: 3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced it has begun delivering the IIJ Secure Web Gateway Service to Tokyo Stock Exchange, Inc. (TSE) for use with internal systems.
Until recently, TSE Inc. had been using a Web filtering system built and operated internally, but with the expiration of product support licenses, the company switched over to the IIJ Secure Web Gateway Service as of July 19, 2010. In addition to the basic features of the IIJ Secure Web Gateway Service--Web filtering, anti-virus, and log maintenance and download--six optional features, including the Bypass Option, Authentication Server Integration Option, and SSL Inspection Option, are also being provided for approximately 1,000 accounts.
The IIJ Secure Web Gateway Service includes Web access monitoring and operation by IIJ security engineering experts 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This service greatly reduces the operating costs and overhead associated with installing Web filtering system patches and firmware updates, which had previously been performed by TSE Inc.'s information systems department. It also provides the company with the latest security functions without the burden of capital investments in information systems. The migration from the old system to the new system took a mere 2 months and was a smooth and trouble-free transition.
IIJ will continue to improve its services to reduce the burden of network security on its customers.
