IIJ Launches IIJ FiberAccess/U Service
TOKYO-September 27, 2012-Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE1: 3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced the expansion of its Internet connectivity services for enterprises with the October 1, 2012, release of the IIJ FiberAccess/U Service, a best-effort connectivity service for optical fiber lines provided by UCOM Corporation.
The IIJ FiberAccess/U Service uses UCOM's optical fiber lines to deliver a connectivity environment with speeds up to 100 Mbps and an IPv4/IPv6 dual-stack PPPoE connection. The service includes up to six static IPv4 addresses, and semi-static IPv6 addresses (which may change when the customer moves or maintenance is performed on equipment). As part of this service, IIJ provides complete installation, from line arrangement to 24/7 maintenance support after the system is up and running.
IIJ has been providing the IIJ FiberAccess/F Service, which is compatible with NTT East and NTT West FLET'S service, since 2001. With the introduction of IIJ FiberAccess/U Service, client's have a wider choice of optical fiber services, and combining both services will also increase network availability.
