IIJ Launches "GREE Cloud Powered by IIJ GIO US" for Social Applications Providers
TOKYO-July 24, 2012-Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE1: 3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced the launch of GREE Cloud Powered by IIJ GIO US, a cloud service for social applications providers (SAPs) that uses the GREE, Inc.'s social networking service as a platform and offer games and other applications targeting the U.S. market.
GREE Cloud Powered by IIJ GIO US Service provides a cloud platform exclusively for SAPs. This cloud platform enables SAPs to build an application distribution environment in the U.S.. IIJ GIO US Service was released in March 2012 and is already used by many U.S. SAPs. Following are some of the service highlights.
Flexible menu system supports smooth U.S. market entry for SAPs
There are four server options to choose from—from virtual servers to dedicated servers—starting from $65 a month. Each option includes network communications fees, and for all services except the basic service, we also have servers with Fusion-io high-speed drives available for those SAPs with numerous subscribers or special applications, all for a fixed monthly fee. SAPs who are entering the U.S. market for the first time will particularly appreciate the ability to quickly establish a low-cost, trouble-free distribution environment in the U.S.
Complete Japanese support from initial cloud environment building to daily operations
IIJ's expert engineers provide complete support from the very beginning, from building the cloud environment to operating the system, which makes it easy for anyone to get started, even those SAPs that do not have offices in the U.S. Service contracts can be concluded in Japan, and the client can chose which currency they want to pay with, either Japanese yen or U.S. dollars.
Reliable connectivity for all regions in the U.S.
The equipment for the IIJ GIO US Service is located primarily on the west coast, so we have reliable connectivity with U.S. social network providers and major U.S. Internet exchange points. Using IIJ's proprietary high-quality backbone network in the U.S., clients can connect seamlessly with the east coast as well.
IIJ will continue to build its relationship with GREE to develop more cloud services for social applications providers.
