IIJ Group Acquires Certification in Multi-Tier Cloud Security (MTCS) Singapore Standard, a Singapore Cloud IT Security Standard
TOKYO-June 29, 2016-IIJ Global Solutions Singapore Pte. Ltd. (IIJ Global Solutions Singapore), a fully-owned subsidiary of Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE1: 3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, today announced that it has acquired certification in the Multi-Tier Cloud Security (MTCS) Singapore Standard 584 Level-1, a cloud certification system operated by the Information Technology Standards Committee (ITSC) of the Infocomm Development Authority of Singapore (IDA), effective as of June 20, 2016.
The MTCS is the world's first cloud security standard developed under the ITSC for cloud service providers in Singapore to evaluate data security in terms of stability and confidentiality in cloud services, as well as the transparency of cloud operating platforms. A virtual platform of cloud services provided by the IIJ Group in Singapore as part of the IIJ GIO Singapore Service was recognized as meeting the certification requirements of MTCS Level-1, which includes the adoption of risk management and comprehensive management processes. This certification will be valid for three years with yearly surveillance audits to be conducted.
By acquiring this certification, IIJ Global Solutions Singapore has made it possible for customers with a focus on information security, such as those in finance, to have more peace of mind upon using the IIJ GIO Singapore Service. This certification also allows the company to make proactive proposals involving cloud services for government-related projects, which have been on the rise since last year.
IIJ Global Solutions Singapore will continue to enhance its IT security management in order to bring safe and reliable cloud services to its customers.
