TOKYO-December 4, 2012-Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ, NASDAQ: IIJI, TSE1: 3774), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers, and 100% owned IIJ subsidiary IIJ Global Solutions Inc.-provider of WAN services for corporate clients-today announced the January 2013 release of the G-BASS ERP Lite service as part of the Global Business Application Service Suite (G-BASS), a suite of applications in the cloud that support mission-critical operations.

G-BASS ERP Lite uses the enterprise resource planning (ERP) package A.S.I.A. developed by Toyo Business Engineering Corporation, which has been successfully deployed overseas many times to provide accounting, sales, procurement, and inventory management functions as a business application service. A.S.I.A. will run on infrastructure provided by IIJ's cloud service, IIJ GIO Service, and it will be the first time for the service to be offered as a monthly subscription-based cloud service in Japan.

G-BASS ERP Lite feature highlights

Deep experience and knowledge in overseas implementation enables quick startup

A.S.I.A. is compatible with multiple languages, multiple currencies, and multiple accounting standards and is a comprehensive ERP package with functions vital to business overseas, including accounting, sales, procurement, and inventory management. The Japanese, English, Chinese, and Thai languages are supported as a standard feature, and the system also supports Chinese accounting forms, Taiwanese value added taxes, the Thai investment incentive laws, and many other legal requirements and business customs of many countries. The service is a vital tool for global expansion, and it has already been deployed in more than 270 enterprises in 20 countries and regions. Many Japanese corporations are venturing into Asia, and many of these have done so with the help of this software package, and the company is using this experience to help other clients to quickly expand overseas.

A cloud service that reduces the corporate footprint overseas and makes it easy to simultaneously expand group companies

G-BASS ERP Lite is provided as a private-cloud, Web-based service that runs on IIJ GIO. It can be used jointly by multiple group companies. Local procurement of hardware and software and the introduction of specific client software are unnecessary with this service, which dramatically minimizes the local burden of implementing ERP services. In addition, because it was modeled after standard overseas business operations, it is easy to deploy simultaneously in the entire corporate group. This service makes it possible to visualize the entire business and strengthen governance quickly and at low cost.

One-stop service and a solid support system

G-BASS ERP Lite provides one-stop service, from network to application, and from design and implementation to operation and maintenance. System monitoring, databackups, and other operational services are also provided, removing the need for system administrators at overseas locations. All operations are centrally managed by the system administrator at the head office in Japan. There is solid support for the system administrator at the head office in Japan as well as for the local staff overseas, all provided centrally by IIJ Global to ensure a trouble-free experience.

IIJ Global expects to implement this service in over 100 companies over the next three years.
We will continue to expand our suite of business application services, and by providing a cohesive bundle of services—from IT infrastructure services based on a global network, to business applications—we will continue to provide robust support for the global businesses of our clients.
